Meat loaf with cheese stuffing
Ingredients/Components
- salt
- evaporated milk - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- soft bread crumbs
- ketchup - 2 Tbsp
- prepared mustard - 1 Tbsp
- ground beef
- onion, finely chopped - 1/2 c
- eggs, slightly beaten - 2 item
- Worcestershire - 1 Tbsp
- green pepper, finely chopped - 1/4 c
- sharp cheese slices - 8 oz
How to make meat loaf with cheese stuffing:
Combine beef, eggs, bread crumbs, onions and green pepper. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, mustard, milk and ketchup. Mix lightly but well. Meat will be juicier and more tender if you handle it as little as possible. Divide meat mixture into 3 equal parts into bottom of a greased loaf pan. Gently pat 1/3 of mixture. Cover with 4 overlapping cheese slices and repeat meat, cheese and meat. Bake at 375° for 50 minutes.Recipe categories: Main dish, Meat, North american.
