Ingredients/Components

  • salt
  • brown sugar - 1/4 c
  • vinegar - 1/4 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • prepared mustard - 1 tsp
  • cracker crumbs - 1/4 c
  • lean ground beef - 2 lb
  • egg, lightly beaten - 1 item
  • medium onion, minced - 1 item

How to make meat loaf:

Combine tomato sauce, brown sugar, vinegar and mustard in a small bowl. Set aside. Combine egg, onion, cracker crumbs, ground beef, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup of the tomato mixture and blend thoroughly. Shape into an oval loaf and place in an oblong baking dish. Make a depression in top of loaf. Pour remaining tomato sauce over top of meat. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
