Marinara sauce
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- olive oil - 1 Tbsp
- red wine - 2 Tbsp
- ground pepper - 1/16 tsp
- can crushed tomatoes - 1 oz
- garlic clove, crushed - 1 item
- Italian seasoning, crushed - 1 tsp
How to make marinara sauce:
In a large saucepan, heat oil until hot. Add onion and garlic. Saute until tender, about 5 minutes. Add crushed tomatoes, salt, Italian seasoning and black pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add wine. Simmer, covered, for 5 minutes. Serve over freshly cooked pasta.
