Mandarin salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- salt
- vegetable oil - 1/4 c
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- sliced almonds - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1 c
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- can Mandarin oranges, drained - 1 oz
- parsley - 1 Tbsp
- dash of Tabasco - 1 item
- head romaine lettuce - 1/2 item
- head iceberg lettuce - 1/2 item
- whole green onions, chopped - 2 item
How to make mandarin salad:
Dressing:1/2 tsp. salt dash of pepper1/4 c. vegetable oil1 Tbsp. parsley2 Tbsp. sugar2 Tbsp. vinegar dash of Tabasco In a small pan over medium heat, cook almonds and sugar, stirring constantly, until almonds are coated and sugar dissolved. Watch carefully as they will burn easily. Cool and store in an airtight container. Mix all dressing ingredients and chill. Mix lettuce, celery and onions. Just before serving, add almonds and oranges. Toss with dressing. Makes 4 to 6 servings.Recipe categories: Pineapple, Salads, Tropical fruits.
