Mandarin salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- sliced almonds - 1/4 c
- snipped parsley - 1 Tbsp
- dash salt and pepper - 1 item
- medium stalks celery, chopped - 2 item
- head lettuce torn into bite-sized pieces - 1/4 item
- bunch romaine torn into bite-sized pieces - 1/4 item
- green onions, thinly sliced, tops and all - 2 item
- can mandarin oranges, drained well - 11 oz
- Stir constantly until sugar is melted and almonds are coated
- dash of red pepper sauce Tabasco - 1 item
How to make mandarin salad:
Cook almonds with sugar in heavy skillet. Stir constantly until sugar is melted and almonds are coated. Cool on waxed paper and break apart. Set aside. Mix rest of ingredients and serve with Sweet-sour Dressing.Sweet-Sour Dressing:1/4 c. vegetable oil2 Tbsp. sugar2 Tbsp. vinegar1 Tbsp. snipped parsley dash salt and pepper dash of red pepper sauce (Tabasco) Shake all ingredients and refrigerate until ready to use.
