Low-fat chocolate cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- cocoa - 3/4 c
- baking powder
- baking soda
- boiling water - 1 c
- egg whites - 4 item
- unsifted flour
- powdered sugar - 4 Tbsp
- skim milk - 1 c
- unsweetened applesauce - 1/2 c
How to make low-fat chocolate cake:
Combine all dry ingredients in large mixing bowl. Add egg whites, milk, applesauce and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).Pour into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with nonstick spray. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool.
Center heart-shaped paper doily on cake. Sift powdered sugar over doily. Makes 16 servings. One serving equals 167 calories, 5 g fat and 103 mg sodium.
