  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 3/4 c
  • baking powder
  • baking soda
  • vegetable oil - 1/2 c
  • boiling water - 1 c
  • unsifted flour

How to make dark chocolate cake:

Combine dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add remaining ingredients, excluding boiling water. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Remove from mixture. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).

Pour into greased and floured pans, 2 (9-inch) round or 1 (13 x 9-inch). Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes for 9-inch pans or 35 to 40 minutes for 13 x 9-inch pan. Cake is done when toothpick comes out clean.
