Layered lettuce salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- diced onion - 1/2 c
- mayonnaise
- diced celery - 1/2 c
- crumbled bacon - 1/2 c
- frozen peas, thawed and drained - 1 pkg
- head lettuce, broken into bite size pieces - 1 item
- can water chestnuts, sliced thinly - 1 item
- Parmesan cheese may use shredded Cheddar, about 6 oz - 5 6
How to make layered lettuce salad:
In large casserole, place lettuce. Layer the onion, celery, water chestnuts and peas. Spread mayonnaise and sugar mixture over top like frosting. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Sprinkle with bacon bits before serving.Recipe categories: Salads, Side dish, Pork.
