Ingredients/Components
- box lasagna noodles - 1/2 lb
- bulk Italian sausage
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- cans tomato sauce, divided - 2 oz
- cans tomato paste - 2 oz
- hot water
- basil leaves - 1 tsp
- shredded Muenster cheese - 3 c
- oregano leaves - 1 tsp
- marjoram leaves - 1/2 tsp
- Ricotta cheese - 1 (16
- pkg - 1 oz
- grated Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
- eggs - 3 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- shredded Mozzarella cheese - 3 c
How to make lasagna:
Prepare lasagna according to package directions. Drain. Combine sausage, onion and garlic. Cook until sausage is no longer pink, stirring often to break sausage apart; drain. Reserve 2/3 cup of tomato sauce. Stir remaining tomato sauce, the tomato paste, water, basil, oregano and marjoram into meat mixture. Bring to boil. Reduce heat; simmer 5 minutes. Combine Ricotta, spinach, Parmesan, eggs and salt. Mix well.In 13 x 9-inch pan, spread reserved 2/3 cup tomato sauce. Layer 1/3 each lasagna, Ricotta mixture, meat mixture, Mozzarella and Muenster cheeses. Repeat layers. Bake, uncovered, in a 350° oven until hot and bubbly, 40 to 50 minutes. Let stand 5 to 20 minutes before serving. Makes 12 servings.
