Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla extract - 2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 3/4 c
- firmly packed brown sugar - 1/4 c
- dozen chocolate kisses - 4 item
How to make kiss cookies:
Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl cream shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Beat well. Add flour, salt, baking powder and mix until blended. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Press each ball around a candy kiss, completely enclosing the kiss (like a chocolate covered cherry). Bake 12 to 15 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet.
