Italian meat sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 1 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- grated Parmesan cheese - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- basil - 2 tsp
- tomato paste - 2/3 c
- chopped parsley - 1 Tbsp
- tomato puree
- macaroni - 16 oz
- ground beef or pork - 1 lb
How to make italian meat sauce:
Brown ground beef or pork in large skillet. Add onion and garlic and cook until onion is tender. Stir in tomato puree, water, tomato paste, parsley, sugar, basil, salt and pepper. Simmer 30 minutes.Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain. Serve topped with sauce and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
