Italian meat loaf
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- ground beef
- oregano - 1/2 tsp
- cans tomato sauce - 2 oz
- shredded Mozzarella cheese - 2 c
- minced onion - 1/2 c
- bread crumbs dry - 1/2 c
How to make italian meat loaf:
Preheat oven to 350°. Combine egg, bread crumbs, onion, 1 can tomato sauce, oregano, salt and pepper. Mix well and add meat. Mix well and shape into a flat rectangle about 10 to 12 inches on waxed paper. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the meat. Roll like a jelly roll. Press ends to seal. Place on rack in a shallow baking dish. Bake 1 hour. Drain off excess fat. Pour on remaining can of tomato sauce. Bake an additional 15 minutes.Recipe categories: Main dish, Ground beef, Beef.
