Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • ground beef
  • oregano - 1/2 tsp
  • cans tomato sauce - 2 oz
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese - 2 c
  • minced onion - 1/2 c
  • bread crumbs dry - 1/2 c

How to make italian meat loaf:

Preheat oven to 350°. Combine egg, bread crumbs, onion, 1 can tomato sauce, oregano, salt and pepper. Mix well and add meat. Mix well and shape into a flat rectangle about 10 to 12 inches on waxed paper. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the meat. Roll like a jelly roll. Press ends to seal. Place on rack in a shallow baking dish. Bake 1 hour. Drain off excess fat. Pour on remaining can of tomato sauce. Bake an additional 15 minutes.
