- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- pkg
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- butter - 8 Tbsp
- egg yolks - 5 item
- egg whites, beaten stiff - 5 item
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- stick butter - 1/2 item
- plain flour - 2 c
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- can Angel Flake coconut - 1 item
How to make italian cream cake:
Frosting:1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 box powdered sugar1 c. chopped pecans1/2 stick butter1 tsp. vanilla Cream butter and shortening. Add sugar, egg yolks and flour. Add milk and soda, then add coconut, nuts and vanilla. Fold in egg whites. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Makes 3 layers.Frosting: Mix all ingredients with electric mixer until smooth.
