Indian chickpeas
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- cloves garlic, crushed - 6 item
- juice of 1 lemon
- onions, diced - 2 item
- cumin seed - 1/2 tsp
- cayenne pepper - 1/2 tsp
- coriander - 3/4 tsp
- garam masala - 1 tsp
- medium tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped - 2 item
- turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- cooked chickpeas - 4 c
- 1-inch piece ginger root, grated
- small potatoes, boiled, peeled and chopped - 4 item
How to make indian chickpeas:
Heat oil. Add cumin and onions. Cook 3 minutes. Add garlic and ginger. Cook 5 minutes on low heat. Add turmeric, coriander, cayenne and salt. Stir; add chopped tomatoes and garam masala. Cook on low heat 10 minutes. Add chickpeas and lemon juice. Cook 5 minutes; add potatoes. Serve over white steamed basmati rice, garnished with chopped green jalapeno peppers.Recipe categories: Side dish, Main dish, Asian.
