Hush puppies

Ingredients/Components

• milk - 2/3 c
• egg - 1 item
• finely chopped onion - 1/4 c
• self-rising cornmeal

How to make hush puppies:

In deep saucepan, heat oil to 375°. In mixing bowl, mix cornmeal, milk and egg until blended well. Stir in onion. Drop, a few at a time, by rounded teaspoonfuls into deep hot fat. Fry for 2 minutes or until golden brown, turning once. Drain on paper towel. Makes about 20.
