Oriental meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- cooking oil - 2 Tbsp
- orange juice - 1/2 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- ground beef
- can pineapple chunks - 1 oz
- dry bread crumbs - 1/4 c
- pineapple juice - 1/2 c
- beef bouillon - 1 c
- green peppers, diced - 2 item
How to make oriental meatballs:
Combine ground beef, eggs, bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Shape into 1 1/2-inch balls. Heat oil in 10-inch skillet over medium heat. Brown meatballs thoroughly. Remove meat balls; drain oil. Drain pineapple, reserving juice. Add bouillon, green pepper and pineapple. Simmer 5 minutes. Combine remaining ingredients; add to skillet. Cook, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil and thickens. Add meatballs. Cover; simmer 15 minutes. Serve over rice. Yields 6 servings.Recipe categories: Main dish, Ground beef, Beef.
