Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- nuts optional - 1 item
- box powdered sugar - 1 oz
- cream cheese, softened - 8 oz
- box yellow cake mix - 1 item
- stick melted margarine - 1 item
How to make gooey butter cake:
Combine cake mix, egg and margarine. Press into rectangular (9 x 13-inch) pan.Combine powdered sugar, cream cheese and vanilla. Beat 3 minutes. Spread on top of cake mixture. Bake 20 minutes at 350°. Sprinkle nuts on top and bake 20 more minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle or sift powdered sugar on top. Cut in squares. Best next day.
