  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • baking soda - 2 tsp
  • shortening
  • ginger - 3 tsp
  • sifted flour - 4 c
  • cloves - 1 tsp
  • dark molasses - 1 c

How to make gingersnaps:

Cream shortening and sugar together. Beat in eggs. Add molasses and sifted dry ingredients. Roll into 1-inch balls. Dip in sugar. Place on baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake in moderate oven (375°) for 15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
