- flour - 1-3/4 c
- cocoa - 2/3 c
- baking soda - 3/4 tsp
- light corn syrup - 1/4 c
- packed light brown sugar - 1/2 c
- pecans, finely chopped - 1/2 c
- coconut, toasted - 1 c
- 1-1/2 sticks butter, softened - 3/4 c
- In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, butter, cocoa, baking soda, salt, eggs, milk and vanilla
How to make german chocolate sandwich cookies:
Preheat oven to 350°. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, butter, cocoa, baking soda, salt, eggs, milk and vanilla. Beat at medium speed until blended. Stir in pecans. Drop dough into 1-1/4 inch balls on ungreased cookie sheet. flatten slightly. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until almost set. Cool slightly; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Prepare filling. Spread flat side of one cookie with 1 heaping tablespoon of filling; cover with flat side of second cookie. Serve warm or at room temperature.Coconut and Pecan Filling:1/2 c. (1 stick) butter1/2 c. packed light brown sugar1/4 c. light corn syrup1 c. coconut, toasted1 c. pecans, finely chopped1 tsp. vanilla extract In medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
