German chocolate pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- water - 3 Tbsp
- egg whites - 2 item
- nuts - 1/2 c
- whipping cream - 1/2 pt
- cream of tartar - 1/8 tsp
- German chocolate
How to make german chocolate pie:
Filling:1/2 pkg. German chocolate3 Tbsp. water1/2 tsp. vanilla1/2 pt. whipping cream Beat first 3 ingredients until very stiff. Add sugar and continue beating. Fold in nuts and vanilla. Spoon into greased pie plate, pushing up high on sides. Bake at 300° for 50 to 55 minutes. Cool.Filling: Heat 1/2 package German chocolate with water over low heat until melted. Cool. Add vanilla and fold in whipped cream. Put in shell and chill 3 hours.
