Fresh apple cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- butter or margarine - 1 c
- flour
- water - 1/2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- ginger - 1 tsp
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- ground allspice - 1 tsp
- medium apples - 3 item
- pecans, chopped fine - 1 c
How to make fresh apple cake:
Mix and sift flour, spices and soda. Cream butter or margarine on medium speed. Add sugar and eggs, one at a time. Add dry ingredients and water alternately. Chop apples and nuts and fold into mixture. Stir in ginger (or vanilla). Pour into greased tube pan lined with wax paper. Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours or bake in layer pans at 400° for 30 minutes. Garnish with rosy apple rings. Serve with whipped cream or lemon sauce.In memory of Emma Walker.
