Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- sweetened condensed milk - 1/3 c
- can Carnation milk - 1 item
- eggs 3 yellow, 3 whole - 6 item
- Using blender, blend eggs and vanilla
How to make flan:
Heat oven to 300°. Using blender, blend eggs and vanilla. Gradually stir in the milk. Pour into 6-ounce custard cups.* Place cups in baking pan, 13 x 9 x 2-inches. Pour very hot water into pan to within 1/2-inch of the top of cups. Bake for 2 hours, until knife inserted halfway between center and edges comes out clean. Remove from water. Turn them upside down. Serve warm or cold.Caramel Syrup for Flan:2 c. sugar (white) Heat in a heavy skillet over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar melts and is golden brown.*Pour caramel syrup into the cups or milk before you pour the mix. This syrup gives the flan the sweet taste. Syrup helps the flan not to stick to the pan.
