Dutch apple cake
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2/3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- sifted plain flour - 2 c
- sugar, mixed with 1 tsp - 1/2 c
- butter Crisco - 3 Tbsp
- to 6 apples, peeled, cored and cut into eighths - 4 item
How to make dutch apple cake:
Sift dry ingredients together. Work in Crisco. Mix to a light dough with egg and milk. Press into greased shallow baking pan. Top with the apples by pressing down into the dough. Sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Cut into squares and serve hot with sweetened whipped cream.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Apple.
