- white sugar - 3/4 c
- bag coconut - 9 oz
- carton Cool Whip, thawed - 8 oz
- orange cake mix - 1 item
- Use 3 round pans or 2 round pans and split cake into 4 layers
- Reserve 1 cup to be added to the icing
How to make dreamsicle cake:
Mix and bake cake according to package directions. Use 3 round pans or 2 round pans and split cake into 4 layers.Note: Any cake flavor can be used; lemon and chocolate are good also.Filling:1 (16 oz.) sour cream (fat free can be used)3/4 c. white sugar9 oz. bag coconut Mix together. Reserve 1 cup to be added to the icing. Spread filling between cake layers.Icing:1 c. reserved filling8 oz. carton Cool Whip, thawed Combine filling and cool whip. Spread on top and side of cake. Refrigerate. Extra coconut can be colored with orange food coloring (red and yellow can be mixed); sprinkle coconut on top of cake.
