Ingredients/Components

  • flour - 2 c
  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • baking powder - 3 tsp
  • salt - 3/4 tsp
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • mace - 1/2 tsp
  • salad oil - 1/4 c
  • milk - 3/4 c
  • approximately 2/3 box powdered sugar
  • oil for cooking - 1 item

How to make donut holes:

Heat oil 3 to 4-inches deep in pan or deep-fat fryer. Measure flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and mace into medium mixing bowl. Add oil, milk and eggs; beat until smooth.

Drop batter by teaspoonfuls into hot oil. Fry 4 or 5 at a time for about 3 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

When cool, roll in sifted powdered sugar. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
