Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 3/4 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- egg - 1 item
- sifted flour
- soft butter - 2 Tbsp
- raisins - 3/4 c
- pitted dates, cut up - 1 c
How to make date-nut bread:
Pour soda and boiling water over dates and raisins. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla, then egg. Beat well. Add flour and mix. Pour in fruit mixture (including water) and pecans. Mix. Bake in a buttered 9 x 5-inch loaf pan at 350°Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Tropical fruits.
