Crisp sugar cookies
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/3 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sifted flour
- 1 stick butter or margarine - 1/2 c
How to make crisp sugar cookies:
Cream together butter or margarine, shortening and sugar. Sift together dry ingredients and add alternately to creamed mixture with egg blended with vinegar and vanilla.Shape dough into small balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Mash down with glass dipped in sugar. Bake in a 400° oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately upon removing from oven, run a sharp knife under the cookies. Makes about 6 dozen.
