  • 6 butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • 6 flour - 2 Tbsp
  • 3/4 salt - 1/4 tsp
  • 3/8 pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • 3 milk - 1 c

How to make creamed chicken:

For 2 whole chicken legs, make 3 cups of White Sauce. Use the numbers in parentheses. Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute.

Chicken: Cook thawed chicken for 20 minutes to 1/2 hour. Pour water off and let chicken cool while making White Sauce. When sauce is ready, take skin off chicken. Cut into small pieces. Put chicken in sauce. Serve over toast.
