Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- pkg - 2 oz
- sour cream
- Duncan Hines butter yellow cake mix - 1 item
- Betty Crocker fluffy white frosting mix - 1 pkg
How to make coconut sour cream cake:
Filling:1 (16 oz.) sour cream2 c. sugar2 (6 oz.) pkg. frozen coconut1 pkg. Betty Crocker fluffy white frosting mix Bake cake as directed in two 9-inch layer cake pans. Cool and split, making 4 layers.Mix sour cream, sugar and frozen coconut. Mix well and spread between layers, on top and sides. Work slowly so cake will absorb all filling. Refrigerate overnight.
Prepare frosting mix. Spread over top and sides of cake.
Note: You can reserve 1/2 package frozen coconut used in filling and sprinkle over cake, if desired.
