Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- milk - 3 c
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 4 Tbsp
- egg yolks - 3 item
- cold water - 1 item
- baked pie crust - 1 item
- Heat milk to boiling
- coconut reserve 1/4 c - 1 c
How to make coconut cream pie:
Mix eggs, sugar and cornstarch together with enough cold water to make paste. Heat milk to boiling. Add egg mixture and cook until thick. Remove from heat and add 3/4 cup coconut, butter and vanilla. Pour into pie crust and top with meringue and remaining coconut.
