Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 1/4 c
- egg yolks - 3 item
- coconut - 1 c
- powdered sugar - 1/4 c
- whipping cream - 1 c
- 9-inch pie shell - 1 item
- toasted coconut for garnish - 1 item
How to make coconut cream pie:
Combine first 3 ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Gradually stir in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 30 seconds. Remove from heat; stir in butter, vanilla and 1 cup coconut. Pour in pie shell. Mix whipping cream and powdered sugar until fluffy. Cover pie and refrigerate. Garnish with toasted coconut.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
