Cinnamon loaf
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
- eggs - 2 item
- packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/4 c
How to make cinnamon loaf:
Cream shortening, sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar in bowl until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add sifted flour, soda, salt and baking powder alternately with buttermilk, mixing well after each addition. Combine 1/4 cup brown sugar and cinnamon.Pour half the batter into prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle with 2/3 of the brown sugar mixture. Add remaining batter. Sprinkle with remaining brown sugar mixture. Swirl with knife. Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes or until bread tests done.
