  • sugar - 3 c
  • eggs - 5 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • sifted flour - 3 c
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • sticks butter - 2 item

How to make chocolate pound cake:

Sift together 3 times the flour, baking powder and salt. Cream butter, Crisco and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Add vanilla. Mix well. Bake in a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
