  • sugar - 3/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • water - 1/2 c
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • nuts - 1/2 c
  • soft shortening - 3/4 c
  • dry milk - 1/3 c

How to make chocolate drop cookies:

Mix in a 2-quart bowl the shortening, water and egg. Sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa, dry milk, soda and salt. Add to first mixture and mix well. Stir in nuts. Drop about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake near center of oven about 10 minutes or until springs back. Cool and frost with 1 tablespoon of frosting for each cookie. Fudge frosting is best.
