Chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients/Components

• vanilla - 1 tsp
• granulated sugar - 1/2 c
• pkg - 1 oz
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• chopped nuts - 1/2 c
• baking soda - 1/2 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• shortening - 1/2 c
• firmly packed brown sugar - 1/4 c
• unsifted all-purpose flour - 1 c

How to make chocolate chip cookies:

Beat the shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy. Blend in flour, soda and salt, then stir in chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes about 4 dozen.
