Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 6 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- stick butter - 1 item
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- pecans - 1 c
- small box powdered sugar - 1 item
- Hershey cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- Sift together flour, sugar and salt
How to make chocolate cake:
Preheat oven to 350°. Sift together flour, sugar and salt. Bring Crisco, water, butter and cocoa to boil in saucepan. After mixture has boiled, pour over dry ingredients. Mix well. Add eggs, soda, cinnamon, buttermilk and vanilla. Pour into greased and floured cake pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.Chocolate Icing:1 stick butter4 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk1 small box powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla1 c. pecans After removing cake from oven, bring butter, cocoa and milk to boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and nuts. Mix well. Pour over cake while both cake and icing are hot and cover.Recipe categories: Desserts, Chocolate, Cakes.
