Ingredients/Components
- unsifted unsweetened cocoa powder - 1 c
- boiling water - 2 c
- large eggs - 4 item
- sifted all-purpose flour
- vanilla
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- margarine, softened - 1 c
- granulated sugar
- heavy cream, chilled
- unsifted powdered sugar - 1/4 c

- light cream - 1/2 c
- margarine - 1 c
How to make chocolate cake:
Filling:1 c. heavy cream, chilled1/4 c. unsifted powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla Frosting:1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces1/2 c. light cream1 c. margarine2 1/2 c. unsifted powdered sugar Mix cocoa with boiling water in bowl. Beat with whisk until smooth. Cool completely. Sift flour with baking powder, baking soda and salt. Preheat oven to 350°. Grease well and lightly flour 3 layer cake pans.In bowl, at high speed, beat margarine, sugar, eggs and vanilla for 4 to 5 minutes. At low speed, beat in flour mixture alternately with cocoa mixture. Do not overbeat. Pour batter into pans. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool completely.
Filling: Whip cream with sugar and vanilla until stiff. Refrigerate.
Frosting: Combine in pan the chocolate pieces, cream and margarine. Stir over medium heat until smooth. Remove from heat. With whisk, blend in powdered sugar. Set bowl over ice; beat until frosting holds shape.
Stack cake with filling. Put frosting on outside of cake. Refrigerate 1 hour before serving.
