Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 2 c
• eggs - 2 item
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• flour - 2 c
• soda - 2 tsp
• cocoa - 3/4 c
• buttermilk - 1 c
• baking powder - 1 tsp
• Crisco oil - 1 c
• cold black coffee - 1 c

How to make chocolate cake:

Mix all ingredients at once. Beat on low speed for 4 minutes; pour into pans or pan lined with wax paper. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes if 9-inch pans; 30 to 40 minutes if a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. This is a moist dark chocolate cake; may be frosted or left unfrosted.
