Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 8 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- salt to taste - 1 item
- celery - 1 c
- large onion - 1 item
- corn meal
- butter milk - 1 c
- large hen - 1 item
- to 10 crackers - 8 item
How to make chicken dressing:
Corn Bread:3 c. corn meal2 eggs1 tsp. salt1 c. butter milk Cook the hen and 1 teaspoon of salt in a large pan filled with water until tender. Remove hen from broth. Add broth to crumbled cornbread. Add the 8 eggs, 1 cup celery, 1 large onion, crackers and salt. Make it a little soupy. Some will cook out. Bake at 325° until light brown.Corn Bread: Combine ingredients. Bake in large skillet at 450° until brown.
