Cabbage slaw
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- vegetable oil - 3/4 c
- vinegar - 3/4 c
- dry mustard - 1 tsp
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- onion - 1 item
- large head cabbage, shredded - 1 item
How to make cabbage slaw:
In a bowl place a layer of cabbage and a layer of onion rings. Cover with 3/4 cup sugar.In a boiler, put vinegar, salt, celery seed, dry mustard and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Heat until hot. Add vegetable oil. Heat until just before boiling point. Pour over mixture and chill 2 hours. Will keep in refrigerator 2 weeks.
