Butterscotch candy
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- boiling water - 2 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- dark Karo syrup - 1/2 c
- butter no substitute - 1/2 c
How to make butterscotch candy:
Boil together sugar, syrup, butter and water until brittle stage (300°). Add vinegar and stir hard. Pour into a buttered pan and mark in squares with a knife when slightly cool and not hard.To make suckers: Butter small pastry cupcake pans. Pour candy into these pans. Turn out onto wax paper when slightly hardened. Quickly insert paddle-pop sticks and let harden for suckers.
