Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • milk - 1 c
  • self-rising flour - 1/2 c
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • box confectioners sugar - 1 item
  • butter flavoring - 2 tsp
  • cake flour
  • whole eggs - 4 item
  • Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well

How to make butternut cake:

Cream sugar and shortening at high speed 10 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well. Add one cup flour. Beat at a low speed one minute. Add remaining flour and milk. Beat well. Add flavoring. Bake at 350° for 1 hour in greased tube pan.Icing:1 stick margarine1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 box confectioners sugar1 tsp. butter flavoring Mix well. Add 1 cup chopped pecans; mix. Spread on cake. Best kept refrigerated.
