Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- sticks butter - 3 item
- cake flour
- lemon - 1/2 tsp
How to make buttermilk pound cake:
Cream butter and sugar in bowl and add 1 egg at a time, mixing well. Add lemon and vanilla flavoring. Mix dry ingredients in separate bowl. Alternate, adding buttermilk and dry mixture to creamed butter, egg and sugar mixture. Pour into a buttered and floured tube pan. Bake at 250° for 1 3/4 hours, checking for doneness with toothpick.
