Buttermilk pancakes
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- eggs, separated - 3 item
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 3/4 tsp
- baking soda - 1/8 tsp
- melted butter - 1 Tbsp
How to make buttermilk pancakes:
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar. Beat egg yolks. Add buttermilk to egg yolks. Add this mixture to flour. Stir until smooth. Add melted butter and mix. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold them into flour mixture. Fry on hot, well-greased griddle. Makes 12 to 15 pancakes.Recipe categories: Pancakes and waffles, Breakfast, Northeastern U.S..
