Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • water - 1 c
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • self-rising flour - 2 c
  • box confectioners sugar - 1 item
  • nuts optional - 1 item
  • Crisco oil - 1/2 c
  • Bake at 400° for 20 minutes

How to make buttermilk brownies:

Mix all ingredients and pour into a greased and floured 11 x 16 pan. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes. Let cool.Frosting:1/4 c. cocoa1 tsp. vanilla1/3 c. buttermilk1 box confectioners sugar1 stick butter nuts (optional) Melt butter; add cocoa and buttermilk. Heat to almost boiling. Add vanilla and sugar. Mix well. Let frosting cool until starts to thicken and pour over cake.
