Boiled dressing
Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 1 Tbsp
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 tsp
- water - 1 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- prepared mustard - 2 tsp
- light cream or milk - 2 3
- each: vinegar and water, mixed - 1/2 c
How to make boiled dressing:
This dressing can be kept covered in refrigerator for a few days. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.Mix dry ingredients. Add mustard and water. Stir into vinegar and water. Bring to a boil. Stir and simmer 5 minutes. Beat egg with butter. Pour on hot vinegar mixture and beat thoroughly. Cook over very low heat, stirring constantly, until the dressing thickens slightly. Cool. Thin with cream or milk and mix well.
