Beef with onions
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- egg white - 1 item
- oil for deep frying - 2 4
- dark soy sauce - 4 Tbsp
- or 4 onions, sliced - 3 item
- beef flank or top sirloin steak, julienne - 1 lb
- wine or dry sherry - 1 Tbsp
How to make beef with onions:
Combine beef, salt, egg white and cornstarch. Mix well with hands. Heat oil in wok. Deep-fry beef until it is seared. Drain. Reheat 2 tablespoons of oil in wok. Add onions. Stir-fry until soft and well-browned, about 20 minutes. Add beef. Add sherry, sugar and soy sauce. Stir-fry 1 minute, until beef is glazed and brown. Serves 4 to 6.May be prepared in advance.
