Barbecue sauce for chicken
Ingredients/Components
- oleo - 1/2 c
- lemon juice - 1/4 c
- light brown sugar - 1/2 c
- salad oil - 1 c
- dry mustard - 1 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1/2 c
- chili sauce - 2 Tbsp
- cloves garlic, crushed - 2 item
- onion, finely chopped - 1 item
- bottle catsup - 14 oz
- cayenne pepper - 1/4 tsp
- drops Tabasco sauce - 3 item
How to make barbecue sauce for chicken:
Melt oleo in saucepan and add remaining ingredients, stirring constantly. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Sauce may be stored in tightly closed jar in refrigerator for 1 week. Marinate chickens 5 to 6 hours in sauce (or overnight), then barbecue over medium coals for 1 1/2 hours, turning and basting occasionally.
