Banana tea bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- chopped pecans
- sour cream - 1/4 c
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- almond extract - 1 tsp
- baking powder
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- mashed ripe bananas - 1 c
- powdered sugar to sprinkle on top - 1 item
- light rum or milk - 2 Tbsp
How to make banana tea bread:
Combine butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl; cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs, sour cream, rum and almond extract, mixing well. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with mashed bananas, mixing well after each addition. Stir in pecans. Pour batter into 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until done. If loaf gets too brown, cover with foil. Remove from pan; cool. Sprinkle sugar.Recipe categories: Breads, Lunch/snacks, Quick breads.
