  • sifted Softasilk cake flour
  • sugar
  • baking powder
  • soda
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • soft shortening - 2/3 c
  • buttermilk - 2/3 c
  • mashed ripe bananas about 3
  • large eggs - 2 item
  • chopped nuts - 2/3 c

How to make banana cake:

Sift together Softasilk, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt. Add shortening, 1/2 of the buttermilk and bananas. Beat for 2 minutes. Add remaining liquid with the eggs. Fold in nuts. Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan or two 9-inch layer pan
